Why Laiden exists
Student cities are full of people, and still it is surprisingly easy to feel alone in one. You move for your studies, the lecture halls are full of strangers, your friends and family are a train or a flight away, and the evenings get quiet faster than you expected.
We built Laiden because we believe no student should have to feel that way. It is one place made for the student community: to find new friends, a study partner, or a date, with real people from your own city. Not a numbers game, but the start of actually belonging somewhere.
What we believe
- Community first. Laiden exists so students feel at home faster: friends, study partners, dates, and people to share the city with.
- Real people only. Every account is verified with a student email. No bots, no fake profiles, no randoms.
- Free for everyone. No premium tiers and no paying to be seen. Every student gets the same chance to meet someone.
